✍️ Poet & Writer

My name is Masha Brar. I am a lawyer, a small business owner, a mother, a daughter-in-law, and your neighbour in Ward 2. I have spent my career helping families navigate life’s most important transitions — protecting their estates, securing their homes, and building new beginnings in this country.

That is what I have done as a lawyer for over a decade. At Masha Brar Law Professional Corporation, I help individuals and families with their wills and estates, their real estate transactions, and their immigration journeys — the most pivotal, vulnerable moments of a person’s life. I have learned to listen not just to respond, but to truly understand.

My Life in Ward 2

I live here with my family. My son goes to school here. My mother-in-law is part of this community. My husband works here. And my Dog Pluto- Loves it here. Every morning when I leave for the office, I am a Ward 2 resident — not a candidate.

I have volunteered in local schools, non profits, and Probono Ontario, organized Annual Easter Egg Hunt, supported small business networking, actively involved as a member and volunteer with the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and been an active member of cultural groups. I have run legal education webinars working to make the law less intimidating for everyone.

I am a board member, I have been in the executive committee of the Law Practice Committee 2019-2020, I have been in the executive committee for Immigration Law with the Ontario Bar Association. All elected volunteer positions, where I am offering or have offered my experience and making sure that I give back to the society.

I did not start doing these things when I filed my nomination. I have been doing them for years.

Why I Am Running

Every day at home, I look in two directions. I see my mother-in-law — her generation, what they built, what they deserves to see protected. And I see my son, almost 12 — curious, opinionated, full of future — and I ask myself the question I suspect many of you ask too:

What kind of city are we leaving him- for our children- our future?

Burlington is growing. Growth brings opportunity and new neighbours who want to belong here just as much as those of us who have been here for years. But growth without a plan is just pressure — on our roads, our services.

And we have families quietly wondering if they can still afford to live here!

Burlington’s own 2026 budget confirms a $300 million infrastructure gap over the next 10 years — the single largest driver of tax increases above inflation. Most residents have never heard that number. I think you deserve to.

I am not running against development. I am running to make sure development works for the people who live here — and for the people who are just arriving. That Ward 2 grows with its residents, not around them.

Please note: the law practice and this campaign are entirely separate endeavours.

I am not asking for your trust without earning it first. Here is where I have already shown up — long before any election was on the horizon.

Community Roots

What I’ve Already Built.

Life is busy for all of us, but I believe in giving back as much as I can. So I volunteer. I help out with Compassion Society of Halton, my son’s school, I act as a mentor for the Young Women in Leadership and as a Career Coach with HIEC. I actively engage and volunteer with the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, connecting residents and local businesses.

Previously I have volunteered with ProBono Ontario.

Volunteer Work

I have presented free legal education webinars and seminars, empowering residents to understand their legal rights and navigate complex processes with confidence.

Community Events

Every year we organize our biggest event- Annual Easter Hunt, where we have more than 500 Children participate for free.

I have worked with other professionals and orgainized various business networking events.

As well as participating in the communiting, helping raise funds for charities and connecting people.

Every day I help families understand the different transitions in their lives- Leaving thier estate for their loved ones, navigating the court system after a loved one passed away, buying their home with confidence and trust, or selling thier home and making sure the funds go to the right hands.
