How to vote in Burlington's 2026 election
Three ways to vote, on three different dates. Here's how it works.

Online voting closes on 23 October — three days before voting day. If you're planning to vote online, don't leave it until the 26th. There's no way to vote on the 24th or 25th, and there is no telephone voting in Burlington.
What you'll need
- Your voter information letter — mailed to you if you're on the voters' list. Required to vote online.
- One piece of ID showing your name and address. Photo ID is not required.
- Can't make any of the dates? You can appoint someone to vote for you by proxy.
Not sure you're registered?
Check the voters' list at myvote.burlington.ca. If you miss the online deadline you can still be added in person at City Hall, 426 Brant St, up to 4:30 p.m. on Oct 23 — or register at the poll on voting day.
Wait — am I even in Ward 2?
Burlington's ward boundaries changed for this election. By-law 30-2025 altered them in May 2025, for the first time in twenty years.
- Ward 2 now includes Maple Beach, which used to be in Ward 1.
- Leighland has moved to Ward 1.
If you've voted in Burlington before, don't assume you're in the same ward you were in last time. Check your ward at myvote.burlington.ca
In Ward 2 you vote for
- Mayor of Burlington
- Your Ward 2 city and regional councillor
- A school board trustee
